E-cigarettes\vape products are safe, right? After all it’s just water vapor right? Everybody’s doing it so it has to be ok! E-cigs, vape pens, mods – whatever you want to call them, they are all the rage. Youth at record levels are trying them. But what is really being inhaled? How safe are they? Can you get into trouble if you use them? Youth who attend this interactive session will get a chance to see the products up close and personal and share what is going on in their communities. They will find out what is really in the vapor, the harm they can cause, and the rules and restrictions Missouri has on them.

This workshop will outline a variety of topics related to implementation of a Responsible Beverage Server Training into a community. This includes how to examine your community’s need for implementation of a responsible beverage server training program. This can be done by looking at alcohol compliance rates, MIP violations, citations for selling alcohol to a minor, etc. This workshop will also cover a step by step process on actually implementing the training into your community to include: community buy-in, community meetings, how to engage law enforcement in your efforts, how to set up the system, etc. This workshops will also cover challenges and strategies to get the most effective responsible beverage server training to fit your community needs.

In prevention efforts with complex social justice issues and big expectations for the role that collaborative efforts should play in helping to address them, even the most experienced partnership and coalition facilitators find themselves asking questions like:

“How clear are my partners on our group’s aim?”
“What levels of partnership are required to achieve our aim, and how do I know the group has agreed upon them?”
“How do I structure conversation and planning to get us to our goal?”
