Programs, Partnerships, and Alliances – TEST PAGE

We value our relationships with other prevention organizations and understand the importance of collaboration to build the capacity of Missouri’s state and local prevention infrastructure.

National

Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT)

CAPT is a national training and technical assistance system committed to strengthening prevention systems and the nation’s behavioral health workforce.

Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA)

Since 1992, CADCA has demonstrated that when all sectors of a community come together —social change happens. CADCA is the premier membership organization representing those working to make their communities safe, healthy and drug-free.

National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)

NIDA has reorganized its divisional structure to integrate its research portfolio, promote translational research and increase efficiencies. The new structure incorporates research on clinical neuroscience, brain development and behavioral treatment development into existing and newly formed components of NIDA divisions.

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)

ACT Missouri houses the SADD state coordinator position in Missouri. SADD has been the leading organization committed to saving lives by empowering teens to stand strong against destructive decisions.

National Drug Endangered Children

The mission of the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) is to break the cycle of abuse and neglect by empowering practitioners who work to transform the lives of children and families living in drug environments. We provide training and technical assistance to state DEC alliances and all those in the community who assist and care for drug endangered children.

Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)

A component of the Executive Office of the President, ONDCP was created by the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988.  ONDCP advises the President on drug-control issues, coordinates drug-control activities and related funding across the Federal government, and produces the annual National Drug Control Strategy, which outlines Administration efforts to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing and trafficking, drug-related crime and violence, and drug-related health consequences.

Partnership for Drug-Free Kids

ACT Missouri is the Missouri alliance member for The Partnership at Drugfree.org. In 2012, ACT Missouri was awarded the 2011 Outstanding Alliance Award. Founded in 1986 as an anti-drug advertising campaign and formerly known as thePartnership for a Drug-Free America, the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing teen substance abuse and helping families impacted by addiction. They translate the science of teen drug use and addiction for families, providing parents with direct support to prevent and cope with teen drug and alcohol abuse.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA’s mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.

Missouri Coalition for Community Behavioral Healthcare

The mission of the Missouri Coalition for Community Behavioral Healthcare (formerly Missouri Coalition of Community Mental Health Centers) is to enable access to quality mental health services by all Missouri citizens in need of such services, while maximizing their human potential and quality of life. This mission will be accomplished through the continued maintenance and development of a stable statewide network of comprehensive community-based mental health care.

Missouri Coordinated School Health Coalition (MCSHC)

The Missouri Coordinated School Health Coalition (MCSHC) is a collaborative of public and private organizations assisting Missouri’s schools, families, and communities with their coordinated school health programs.  The coalition does this by promoting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s coordinated school health model. This strategic plan was developed to strengthen efforts to reach more schools and increase the effectiveness of our support for coordinated school health. It is intended to communicate our purpose and support our decision-making regarding organizational structure, policy, budget, and program priorities.

Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Behavioral Health (DBH)

ACT Missouri’s Training and Technical Assistance Contract from DBH provides funding, training and support for the ten Regional Support Centers (RSC). ACT Missouri is the main distribution point for materials and communication for the RSCs – both between the RSCs and DBH, as well as between the RSCs themselves.

Missouri Prevention Partners (MPP)

The Missouri Prevention Partners (MPP) is a collaboration of statewide public and private nonprofit organizations that all have an interest in and statewide perspective of child abuse and its prevention. The group began organizing in 2006, and through quarterly meetings, established its vision, mission, by-laws and guiding principles.  A strategic plan was developed to define the agenda and priorities for child abuse prevention in Missouri.

Safe Kids Worldwide is a global organization dedicated to protecting kids from unintentional injuries, the number one cause of death to children in the United States. Throughout the world, almost 1 million children die of injuries each year.
